In Senegal, wrestling is considered the “king” sport — there is only in one region where the women practice, as part of Diola culture. After having represented Senegal at two Olympic Games and being crowned as African Wrestler of the Decade, Isabelle Sambou trains a young generation of wrestlers, while reflecting on the glories and the regrets of her career.

The Wrestlers of Dakar is a short documentary film produced by Voice for Nature in collaboration with Long Beach Film Company. It is part of the Human x Nature Project.

Featuring Isabelle Sambou, Adelaide Sambou, Mari Sambou, Mame Marie Senghor and Anta Sambou.
